Faithfulness: Each person is committed to what God calls each to do.

Excellence: Each person continually strives to improve in all that they do.

Strings

It is a real pleasure teaching strings at St. Joseph-Marquette. The students work hard, and (usually) practice at home and progress very rapidly. Practice is important! Beginners should practice about 10 - 15 minutes per day until about Christmas time. More advanced students should get about 30 minutes practice time daily. Every string student has a lesson and Orchestra members have additional sheet music.

I plan to take the Orchestra to several places for short concerts - to Sun Towers or similar places - or a Kiwanis group (like last year). I will let you all know in advance when these will happen!

The first concert this year will be a short concert designed for children at La Salle on Oct. 24 at 3:00 PM. The 7/8 Orchestra will play with the La Salle Orchestra during "Faith In Action" week. There will be a mandatory rehearsal Oct. 23 from 4 - 5:30 at Lightning Hall. Please put this on your calendars.

So you know - our Christmas concert, involving all strings is set for Dec. 10.

Please feel free to call me if you have questions - 307 - 7417.

More later - Mrs. Baisinger
