Drama
Confidence that carries well beyond the stage.
Drama gives students the chance to build confidence, communication, creativity, and teamwork through performance and storytelling. On stage or behind the scenes, your child learns skills that support personal growth and leadership.
Welcome to Ms. Tri's middle school drama, offered Monday through Friday for grades 6 through 8.
Sixth grade
Students begin a hands-on look into drama and its components using three units:
- Unit 1: All About Me
- Unit 2: Pantomime and non-verbal communication
- Unit 3: Monologues and character interactions
Seventh grade
Students build on what they learned, with three new units:
- Unit 1: Types of drama
- Unit 2: Accents
- Unit 3: Improvisation
Each unit runs two to three weeks and includes on-stage and off-stage activities, helping students explore ideas in a positive, creative, and safe way while building the confidence to express themselves.
Eighth grade
Students revisit the skills from sixth and seventh grade, then take on an on-stage production. The course builds lifelong skills: collaboration, responsibility to the production and fellow students, and accountability to their audience and peers. Whether acting, working crew, or designing, students develop confidence and see that their contributions drive a production's success.
