Accessibility Statement
A website everyone can use
St. Joe's welcomes families of every background and ability, and that commitment carries through to our website. We work to make this site usable for everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology, and we keep improving it over time. If you run into a barrier here, we want to hear about it.
St. Joseph Marquette Catholic School is committed to making its website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. The school works to improve the user experience for all visitors and to apply relevant accessibility best practices. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time task.
Measures to support accessibility
This website was built following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and the W3C ARIA Authoring Practices Guide, and following accessibility best practices such as:
- Semantic HTML with a correct heading order and clear page landmarks
- Keyboard access to interactive elements, with a visible focus indicator
- A skip-to-content link at the top of each page
- Color contrast intended to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA
- Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images, and empty alternatives for decorative ones
- Labels and accessible names on forms and controls
- Respect for reduced-motion preferences, with pause control on any moving content
- Automated testing alongside manual keyboard and screen reader checks
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, at three levels: A, AA, and AAA. This website was built following WCAG 2.2 Level AA and accessibility best practices. Because of the known limitations described below, some parts of the site may not fully meet the standard. This statement describes the school's accessibility efforts and goals. It is not a warranty or guarantee, and no guarantee of conformance with any standard is made.
Known limitations and alternatives
Some limitations remain. If you find a barrier that is not listed here, please contact the school office using the details below and it will be addressed.
- PDF documents. PDF forms and documents on this site have not been tested or remediated for accessibility and may not be fully accessible with assistive technology. If you need any PDF in an accessible or alternative format, contact the school office at sfeusner@sjmms.org or (509) 575-5557 and the school will provide the information in a format that works for you, at no cost.
- Embedded Google Map. This site includes an embedded Google Map, a third-party service with known accessibility limitations that are outside the school's control. The school's address and contact information are also provided as plain text on the site, so the same information is available without using the map.
Feedback and contact
The school welcomes your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, or need information in a different format, please contact the school office:
- Email: sfeusner@sjmms.org
- Phone: (509) 575-5557
Please include the page address and a short description of the problem so the school can respond and resolve it.
Assessment approach
Graceful Web Studio assessed the accessibility of the St. Joseph Marquette Catholic School website and issued this accessibility statement on July 7, 2026. The assessment was carried out by Crystal Scott, Certified Professional in Web Accessibility, using automated testing along with manual keyboard and screen reader checks. An assessment reviews the site at a point in time and does not warrant or guarantee ongoing conformance with any standard.

The school is solely responsible for its content and for the ongoing accessibility of the site, including any content, documents, images, forms, or third-party tools added or changed over time.
