Physical Education
Strong bodies, healthy habits, and the joy of playing as a team.
Physical Education helps students develop healthy habits, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong fitness. Through age-appropriate activities and games, your child builds strength, coordination, confidence, and a real appreciation for staying active.
Time and schedule
- Pre-Kindergarten: 30 minutes, once per week.
- Kindergarten through fourth grade: 30 minutes, twice per week.
- Fifth grade: 45 minutes, twice per week.
- Sixth through eighth grade: 45 minutes, for two quarters.
Elementary P.E.
Elementary P.E. builds basic motor skills like running, skipping, and hopping, and develops sportsmanship through team games such as basketball, hockey, and softball. Students also earn free days, where they choose from games like Capture the Flag, Kickball, and Fastest Tagger in the West.
Middle school P.E.
In middle school, the focus shifts to team sports: basketball, volleyball, soccer, and softball. Students are graded daily on dressing down, participation, effort, and attitude. The standard is simple: try the skill and take part in the activity, and you will succeed.
